Described as NovaLuxe's "only electric trimaran" — implying other NovaLuxe models are not necessarily pure-electric (hence the manufacturer is tagged mixed). Trampoline-style foredeck, carbon-fibre crossbeams, solar integration, minimalist cabin. Positioned for day cruising and eco-touring rather than full-time liveaboard use. Detailed motor/battery specs not independently confirmed in this research pass.

Our take

What a buyer should know

The bigger, vaguer sibling

At 11.9 m the Orphie 39 is nearly twice the length of NovaLuxe's ELIGHT 40 and a genuinely different proposition: carbon-fibre crossbeams, integrated solar, a trampoline foredeck and a deliberately minimalist cabin, aimed at day cruising and eco-touring rather than living aboard. It is also described as the builder's only electric trimaran, which is worth reading twice — it is a trimaran rather than the catamaran our category records, and the word "only" confirms the rest of the range is not electric.

Buy it only with a full specification in hand

No motor output, no battery capacity, no range, no speed and no price are published in our record. That is not a gap we can fill responsibly, and it is not a gap a buyer should fill with optimism either. On a solar-assisted multihull of this size, the battery capacity and the realistic cruising consumption are the entire purchase decision; without them there is no way to say whether this is a serious 12 m platform or a styling exercise with a motor in it.

Treat the listing as concept-grade until the yard supplies documented figures. If it does, the trimaran layout — long, slender, light — is precisely the right hull form for electric range, and the boat deserves a second look.

Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
