What a buyer should know
Not a boat in the usual sense
The Q2S Electric is closer to a personal watercraft than to a day boat, and should be judged that way. Two seats, no accommodation, and a 3.5-metre hull mean it is bought for the experience of foiling rather than for transporting people or gear. Its efficiency argument is real: only 5.5 kW is needed to reach 21 knots, because once the hull is flying the drag collapses. That is why a 10.4 kWh pack — small by boat standards — is enough to be useful here.
Who it suits, and who it does not
Owners on lakes and calm sheltered water who want something quiet and unusual, and who can store it easily given the light weight. It is not a family boat, not a tender substitute, and not suitable for choppy or busy water where obstacles matter and a foil strike is a genuine hazard.
The certification caveat
This one needs care. Quadrofoil's own Q2S and Q2A model pages carry the wording "in the process of conformity assessment", while the company's FAQ states that the Q2S is certified. Those two claims cannot both be current. CE certification determines where you can legally use the craft and whether it can be registered in your country, so a buyer should get the current conformity documentation in writing before paying a deposit, not afterwards.
